AMNA -- Police in the western port city of Patras on Monday arrested a 17-year-old illegal immigrant from Afghanistan, while two more Afghans, including another teenager, are wanted in the stabbing death of a 30-year-old local man at dawn Saturday.

The 30-year-old was found fatally injured at a short distance from his home in the coastal village of Itea at dawn on Saturday with six stab wounds in the chest. He died in a local hospital a few hours later.

A police investigation reportedly pinpointed three Afghani teens that had allegedly gotten quarreled with the victim outside his home in the early morning hours of Saturday. According to reports, the victim followed them and a second argument ensued, during which the three stabbed the man at least six times before fleeing.

Police tracked down and arrested one of the alleged assailants, while the other two are wanted. The two 17-year-olds were arrested a month earlier for illegal entry and residence in Greece, and had been given a deadline to leave the country, as per the regime followed when detaining illegal migrants.
