Olympiakos won its second consecutive soccer league title after beating Panetolikos 1-0 away on Sunday night to retain its 10-point lead at the top of the Super League table with three games left to play.

The Reds overcame the strong resistance of the hosts at Agrinio thanks to a strike by the league’s top scorer, Kevin Mirallas, who notched up his 19th goal of the season in the 54th minute. It is the 39th league title in Olympiakos’s history, a Greek record.

Panathinaikos, in second, beat visiting Aris behind closed doors at Athens’s Olympic Stadium despite playing for more than 30 minutes with 10 men after Nikos Spyropoulos was shown the red card. Gergely Rudolf scored his first Panathinaikos goal eight minutes from time.
